Payroll Processing

Overview

Payroll Processing is a critical module within Human Resource Management, designed to accurately calculate, manage, and distribute employee remuneration. It streamlines the complex tasks of wages, taxes, and superannuation, while integrating with financial systems and ensuring compliance with legislative requirements. This module provides essential tools for creating pays, handling adjustments, managing financial submissions, and generating comprehensive payroll reports for informed decision-making.

  1. Pay Run and Back Pay Management: This feature covers the full lifecycle of payroll, from creation and editing to verification, submission, approval, rejection, and final closure. It automatically calculates wages, recomputes taxes and superannuation, validates deductions, and supports both individual edits and mass adjustments for employee groups. It also manages retroactive payments for wage shortfalls, treating them as "Special" pay types with specific calculation and finalisation rules.
  2. Statutory and Bank Submissions: The system automates compliance with legislative reporting by generating electronic files for various government bodies and financial institutions. This includes ATO Single Touch Payroll (STP) for Australia, electronic files for superannuation contributions (e.g., FNPF, SINPF), and tax reporting (e.g., PayDay Reporting for Fiji, PAYE), incorporating country-specific rules. It also generates secure bank-specific files for direct credit of salaries to banks like ANZ, BRED, BSP, HFC, and WBC, ensuring accurate and compliant fund transfers.
  3. Integration and Utilities: Key functionalities include emailing payslips directly to employees and integrating payroll data with Financial Management Information Systems (FMIS) for seamless General Ledger and Accounts Payable entries. Utilities also exist for managing employee pay rate changes and facilitating employee transfers between companies, ensuring all associated financial details are consistently handled.
  4. Comprehensive Reporting: A wide array of reports is available for thorough oversight, reconciliation, and strategic management. These include detailed Pay Edit, Pay Summary, Banking, and Deduction reports, alongside various audit and analytical reports that provide critical insights into employee remuneration and statutory obligations.
